Jade Castellanos
Jade Castellanos studied the Specialization in 20th Century Mexican Literature at UAM Azcapotzalco and has a Ph.D. in Humanities from the UAEMéx Toluca with a line of research in Literary Studies.
She has published the following books of poetry: El Arte de lo Efímero (Iván Ardila, 1995), Luz Nahual (Lucta, 1997), El Vértigo del Colibrí (Tinta Nueva, 1999), Diente de León (Tinta Nueva, 2002), Riscorso (Ediciones del Ermitaño, 2002), Verano Vorágine (Editorial Letras Vivas, 2006), Del tiempo rojo (Editorial La Orquídea Errante, 2009), Raíz ardiente (Alja Ediciones, 2018), Cristal de luz (Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, 2021) and Los cantos de Jezabel (Editorial Trajín, 2023).
She has also published two works of fiction: De Locas por la Gran Ciudad (Ediciones del Ermitaño, 2001) and El Colapso (Amarillo Editores, 2014).
She has attended various conferences with her own essays and literary creation texts. She has also attended international colloquia as a speaker in Salamanca, Spain, and Pasto, Colombia.
Before the Water by Jade Castellanos is the 29th title of Darklight’s bilingual poetry series. It has an introduction by Leopoldo González and a beautiful cover and interior illustrations by the Mexican graphic artist Alonso Venegas.
