Dana Gelinas
Dana Gelinas was born in Monclova, Coahuila, in 1962. She is a poet, storyteller, and essayist. She has received the following scholarships: Salvador Novo (1982-83), INBA (1987-88) and Fonca for Young Creators (1992). She is currently an editor, as well as a translator of English language poets, among them W.D. Snodgrass. She has given lectures in the United States, Canada and Germany, and her poetic work has been compiled in numerous Mexican anthologies and translated and reviewed in magazines and bilingual anthologies abroad. She has published among others, the following poetry books: Bajo un cielo de cal (Tierra Adentro, 1991), Poliéster (Edited by IMAC for the VIII Tijuana National Poetry Award, 2004), Altos Hornos (Praxis, 2006) and Los trajes nuevos del emperador (Fósforo Editions / University of Laval, 2011). In 2020 Rogelio Guedea compiled a poetic anthology of her work: Ponerse de pie, for Lectorum publishing house.
